Influencia de la Inteligencia Artificial en el aprendizaje del idioma inglés en estudiantes de Educación Superior

Resumen

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo examinar el impacto que tiene el empleo de herramientas de inteligencia artificial en el aprendizaje del idioma inglés por parte de los estudiantes del nivel Superior del Instituto Superior Tecnológico Tsa’chila. El estudio se realizó con un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo y no experimental, con una perspectiva transversal. Se complementó con la revisión de la literatura científica más reciente acerca de la inteligencia artificial y educación. Para ello, se realizó una encuesta estructurada a 71 estudiantes con el fin de determinar cuáles son las herramientas de inteligencia artificial que asa utilizan con más frecuencia, cuántas veces al día e emplean y cuál es su percepción estudiantil sobre su aporte al desarrollo de habilidades lingüísticas en inglés. Los resultados mostraron que los participantes utilizaron mucho las herramientas de inteligencia artificial, siendo ChatGPT y Duolingo las más empleadas. Además, se identificó una visión positiva acerca de su aporte a la mejora del vocabulario, la comprensión de los contenidos y la redacción en inglés. Nos obstante, se observaron también posiciones críticas y neutrales, sobre todo en lo que respecta a la utilidad general y la motivación de estas tecnologías. Se concluye que la inteligencia artificial es un recurso adicional con capacidad de apoyar el aprendizaje del idioma inglés, siempre y cuando su uso vaya acompañado de orientación pedagógica y de una perspectiva ética y responsable.
