Abstract
This research highlights the importance of body awareness in child development and its relationship with laterality. It seeks to propose a playful resource for boys and girls from 3 to 4 years old at the Munaja Humanist Psychopedagogical Center to improve this ability. A descriptive methodology with a qualitative-quantitative approach was used to obtain significant data. Interviews with educators and observations of the children were conducted. The results revealed that the educators know the strategies to promote body awareness in relation to laterality, but do not apply them effectively. The observations showed that the children have not adequately developed their motor skills in this aspect, which translates into poor control of their movements, a poor identification of their predominant section and hemisphere, and a lack of recognition of their laterality. Based on these findings, it was concluded that the creation of a playful resource is a viable option to promote body awareness, facilitating the teaching process and stimulating the development of body awareness in relation to children's laterality.
