Abstract

This research analyzes the influence of recreational material on the development of positive interactions among children in Initial Education II at the Dante Alighieri Private Educational Unit, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. Despite the recognition of play as a fundamental component in early childhood education, its integration into the pedagogical practices of many Ecuadorian institutions, including the aforementioned, remains limited, which restricts the socio-emotional and cognitive development of students. Through a mixed approach that combines qualitative and quantitative methods, key categories such as material selection, frequency of use, peer cooperation, communication, and emotional expression were identified, allowing us to evaluate how playful materials foster an environment more dynamic educational and conducive to active learning. The research highlights the need to coherently and effectively integrate recreational materials into the curriculum, not only to improve academic results, but also to promote the emotional and social well-being of children, thus contributing to their comprehensive development in an educational context. increasingly demanding.
