Abstract
The study focused on the development of fine motor skills in children aged 3 to 4 years, a crucial aspect for their early growth and learning. The research was carried out at the “Hortensia Vásquez Salvador” Educational Unit and innovative recreational strategies were designed to stimulate this skill. The approach was mixed and descriptive, using bibliographic review and data collection through a checklist applied to 26 children from Initial 1 and one teacher during the academic period II-2023. The results indicated that the majority of children showed favorable development in visual-motor coordination, with many in the In Process and Acquired phases. Activities involving the use of the palmar clamp and graphoplastic techniques were the most advanced, while trimming with scissors was the weakest skill. In the body schema, the majority of children were in the In Progress phase, suggesting constant progress but needing additional support in areas such as recognition of body parts and precision in fine movements.
Innovative play strategies were effective in stimulating the development of fine motor skills in children. However, areas requiring more attention were identified, such as the use of scissors and recognition of body parts. The implementation of specific interventions and targeted activities is essential to improve these areas and promote a more balanced and complete development in children.
