Abstract
The research explored the different ways in which parents used to educate and care for their children, based on traditions, values and beliefs rooted in the family structure. The objective was to analyze the relevance of these practices in family environments of children in the Initial 2 stages, specifically in the Ciudad de Caracas and Eladio Roldós Barreiro Educational Units. It was found that currently there are few parents who continue with these cultural practices in raising their children. The methodology used had a mixed approach with a descriptive scope, being applied in two educational units. A semi-structured questionnaire was used as a data collection technique, aimed at parents, in order to explore and record their experiences related to cultural parenting practices in their respective families. The results revealed that a group of parents were familiar with certain cultural practices and integrated them into raising their children, while others had little knowledge about them or did not apply them. It was concluded that preserving this cultural knowledge in the family and applying this type of parenting was important to maintain a cultural identity in children, from respect for these beliefs and parenting methods.
