Abstract

The investigative study focused on inventory management and its impact on distribution costs in hardware companies, with emphasis on Lubritecnic Cía. Ltd. in Santo Domingo. Its primary objective was to analyze this management and its influence on distribution costs. To do this, a diagnosis of the current situation was carried out, identifying the inventory management factors that affect distribution costs. The methodology used combined qualitative and quantitative approaches: interviews were carried out with the Manager and the Warehouse Manager to fully understand the company and its deficiencies. In addition, surveys were applied to inventory and distribution personnel, using structured questionnaires to collect information in a precise and agile manner. A detailed observation sheet was implemented, which documented the flow and development of activities in the company. The improvement proposals included the use of proprietary software, the adoption of the ABC method for product classification and rotation, and the optimization of inventory management through restructuring and ordering. The expansion of the distribution channel was proposed as a strategy to expand the market and satisfy customer needs.
