Abstract

The research was carried out at the "Hilvanando Sueños" company in Santo Domingo, and its main purpose was to analyze the impact of supplier evaluation on the acquisition of raw materials and inputs. The main objective of this study was to deepen the evaluation of suppliers and their influence on the purchasing process, in order to propose an improvement plan for supplier management. The methodology adopted was a qualitative approach, which allowed obtaining a comprehensive understanding of the current supplier evaluation process. This methodology was based on observation, data collection and exhaustive analysis of the information obtained. The justification for this study focuses on the new supplier evaluation process, with the expectation of improving the execution of the procedures and, therefore, optimizing the selection of suppliers in the company. A positive impact is anticipated in the purchasing process, with the reduction of delays in the delivery of raw materials and the improvement in the quality of supplies. The instruments used for the investigation include an interview with the manager, a focus group with the three operators responsible for the related activities and the observation sheet. These methods revealed several shortcomings in the current process, the most prominent being the lack of a supplier evaluation form, as well as problems with the timely delivery of raw materials and damaged products.
