Abstract
This research work is oriented towards the adaptation of reverse logistics in waste management in the commercial establishment "SUPER 1001", located in the city of Santo Domingo. The methodology used in its development covers both quantitative and qualitative approaches, and its scope focuses on descriptive and exploratory research, with the purpose of collecting information exhaustively. In order to establish a diagnosis of the current situation regarding the management of waste generated by the supermarket, observations were carried out by preparing files and an interview was conducted with the administrative secretary in charge of the process. Subsequently, to obtain specific results, a survey was applied that made it possible to identify the factors that affect waste management in the aforementioned establishment. The results obtained from the research indicate a notable lack of collection points for the waste generated, which results in accumulation and disorder. On the contrary, in cases in which positive results were found, the possibility of implementing strategies aimed at improving waste management was opened. In response to this situation, the establishment of collection cabins, designed and classified by colors and types of waste, is proposed as an approach to optimize the process of collecting and sorting waste in the supermarket.
