Abstract

The objective of this research was to propose a methodological guide for strengthening the macro-skills of Language and Literature in third grade students of General Basic Education Parallel A of the Raul Gonzalez Astudillo educational unit, in the city of Santo Domingo. A methodology based on a quantitative approach was proposed, with a descriptive scope and a cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 60 third grade students of General Basic Education (EGB) and the non-probabilistic, intentional sample was made up of 27 third grade students of EGB parallel A. The data collection techniques were the following: the survey was carried out with the help of a questionnaire and the sample was made up of a questionnaire with a sample of 27 students. The data collection techniques were the structured baseline test and the observation guide to evaluate the level of learning of the macro-skills of Language and Literature. To organize and interpret the information obtained with the instruments, statistical analysis was proposed as a technique. In the results, it was determined that the macro skill of listening is the dimension with the greatest difficulties, as opposed to speaking, reading, and writing. Thus, the methodological guide is a pedagogical proposal that addresses the identified needs for strengthening learning around Language and Literature.
