Abstract
The purpose of this work was to contribute to the improvement of the teaching-learning process in the subject of Mathematics, through the implementation of the Gamification methodology in the 8th year EGBS students of the Dr. Carlos Rufino Marín Educational Unit. The methodology had a quantitative approach, being a type of explanatory research with a quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 30 students to whom a pre-test was applied; and post-test, based on a questionnaire with objective questions. The intervention proposal was the implementation of gamification in the Deck Toys tool. Descriptive statistics and the Microsoft Excel tool were used for data analysis. As a first result, it was obtained that the students present an average of 5.9 points, placing them at a low level of learning. In the second result, it was obtained that the application of gamification in the Deck Toys tool significantly contributed to the teaching-learning process of the students, so as a third result it was obtained that the students present an average of 7 marks, 6 points, reaching the required learning (AAR) according to the MINEDUC (2016) assessment scale. This allowed us to conclude that gamification in the Deck Toys tool strengthened the teaching-learning process in 8th year EGBS students.
