Abstract
This research project was carried out in order to establish the basic characteristics and properties of the composite material based on polyethylene terephthalate known as PET, the same that will be used in the production of building blocks to contribute to the reduction of application of polluting materials, and can favor the environment, giving it a different use in contrast to throwing it away whose results are disastrous. In order to carry out this investigative work, an experimental methodology was used, with which the proposed hypothesis was contrasted, in a respective laboratory that, for the execution of the tests, the respective procedures were followed through the NTE INEN 2554 regulations, starting up 15 test tubes, which had PET compositions of 20%, 40%, 60% and 80% respectively, compared to traditional blocks. The results found indicated that the blocks with a composition of 40% PET would have more load and greater resistance to bending tests.
