Main Article Content
Abstract
This study analyzes strategies to promote reading habits among young adults in the digital age. The research was conducted using a qualitative-descriptive approach and involved 15 university students (7 men and 8 women) aged 19 to 35. Surveys and direct observation were used to assess reading habits, preferences, and effective motivational strategies. The results indicate that 60% of participants prefer reading in digital format, although 40% still opt for printed books. Most read several times a week, dedicating between 15 and 30 minutes per session. The most-read genres are novels (35%) and science fiction (20%). Among the most effective motivational strategies, book clubs (40%) and reading applications (30%) stand out. Additionally, observation revealed that concentration improves in quiet spaces, while mobile phone use represents a significant distraction. The study concludes that fostering reading habits among young adults requires a balance between digital accessibility and reducing technological distractions. Implementing interactive strategies and strengthening reading habits in appropriate environments can contribute to the development of a sustainable reading practice.
