Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyse teaching strategies for improving communicative competence in the teaching process, and toEnglish language learning in the seventh year of basic education students of the Maria de la O Intriago Educational Unit of the Atahualpa parish of the canton of Pedernales, province of Manabí. To meet this objective, a quantitative research was developed according to the problem investigated, for which a survey was used. The study was also based on a bibliographical analysis of the theoretical contents of communicative competence in the process of teaching and learning the English language. The results of the diagnosis established laid the foundations for structuring the components of the methodological strategy for the training of students in terms of improving the teaching and learning process at the Maria de la O Intriago Fiscal Educational Unit. The methodological strategy of training students in mention was validated based on the use of gamification processes. The research population consisted

of 2 teachers working in the institution mentioned above and 60 students from the seventh year of basic education.
