Abstract
The present research work was carried out in the province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Santo Domingo canton, in the facilities of the Tsa'chila Higher Technological Institute, in order to evaluate the effect of three solid organic substrates on the production of seedlings of flying potato (Dioscorea bulbifera L.). A Complete Randomized Design (RCD) was used, the treatments were; T1: garden soil 70% + compost 30%, T2: garden soil 70% + bocashi 30%, T3: garden soil 70% + Vermicompost 30% and T4: garden soil, to which the tukey test was applied at 0.05%, the methodology was experimental, where the following variables were measured: plant height and length, number of shoots, number of leaves. T1: 70% garden soil + 30% compost showed 7.50 days to sprouting, 39.23 cm in root length, 14.70 number of roots/seedling, 196.70 cm in seedling height and 15.80 number of leaves/seedling, evidencing the importance of using sustainable agriculture for food production, with efficiency, quality and safety.
