Open Access Policy

The Boletín Científico Ideas & Voces de la Academia is a multidisciplinary open access scientific journal published by the Colegio de Doctores e Investigadores de Iberoamérica (CODII), Ecuador. All published contents are freely and permanently available to readers, researchers, and institutions immediately after publication, promoting the democratization of scientific knowledge, academic dissemination, and the principles of open science.

The journal does not impose economic restrictions for accessing, reading, downloading, copying, distributing, printing, searching, or sharing published articles. Likewise, it promotes international scientific exchange and academic visibility through interoperability standards and digital preservation strategies.

All manuscripts published in the journal undergo a scientific evaluation process under the double-blind peer review model, ensuring quality standards, editorial transparency, and academic integrity.

All articles published in the journal are distributed under the following license:

This license allows:

  • Sharing and redistributing the material in any medium or format.

  • Adapting, transforming, and building upon the material.

  • Using the content for academic and scientific purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the authors and the original publication.

Authors fully retain their copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication of the work.

APC Policy (Article Processing Charges)

The journal operates under a sustainable open access publishing model. Readers are not required to pay any fees to access published content.

The journal may establish Article Processing Charges (APCs) exclusively intended to support processes related to:

  • editorial management,

  • technical review,

  • layout and formatting,

  • DOI registration,

  • digital preservation,

  • interoperability,

  • XML markup,

  • indexing,

  • translation,

  • copyediting,

  • and maintenance of the OJS platform.

Any APCs will be clearly and transparently communicated on the journal’s official website prior to manuscript submission.

Acceptance or rejection of manuscripts will depend exclusively on academic and scientific criteria and will never be influenced by the authors’ financial capacity.

Self-Archiving Policy

The journal allows authors to deposit the published version of their manuscripts (post-print or final publisher’s PDF version) in:

  • institutional repositories,

  • thematic repositories,

  • digital libraries,

  • personal websites,

  • and academic networks,

provided that the original publication in the journal is properly acknowledged.

The self-archiving policy aligns with international open science and digital preservation standards.

Readers’ Rights

Readers have the right to:

  • freely access all published content,

  • download full articles,

  • share publications,

  • print documents,

  • link to published materials,

  • and use the contents for academic and scientific purposes according to the established license.

The journal does not charge subscription fees or access fees for its scientific content.

Digital Preservation and Archiving

The journal implements digital preservation and secure archiving mechanisms through:

  • the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform,

  • OAI-PMH interoperability protocols,

  • national and international repositories,

  • academic indexing systems,

  • and institutional digital preservation services.

These strategies ensure the accessibility, availability, and long-term preservation of published scientific content.

Interoperability and Open Science

The journal promotes principles of open science, interoperability, and digital accessibility through international metadata and scholarly communication standards.

Articles and metadata may be harvested, indexed, and automatically processed by academic search engines, scientific directories, databases, and international indexing systems compatible with open access protocols.

Contents are available in digital formats compatible with multiple devices and platforms, facilitating visibility, readability, and international academic reuse.
