Abstract
The 2 to 3 years stage is one of emotional, social and intellectual changes for infants; they begin to imitate the actions of adults and their playmates, to follow two- or three-step instructions, to organize objects by color or shape, and to express various emotions. This study focused on the socio emotional development of infants using a skills roulette and structured observation of 13 children from a CNH in the city of Portoviejo, Ecuador. The results showed a high number of infants whose socio emotional development tends to increase with the use of roulette, although work should be focused on those who have not yet achieved the skills and those who are in the process of doing so. It is necessary that this effective tool can also be used within the home to enhance children's development.
