Abstract

The proposal has addressed an exhaustive analysis related to the management of melamine remnants in the company JK Decors. A mixed approach methodology has been used, including employee surveys and interviews with the owner manager. The results of the survey revealed a variable awareness among the collaborators about the recyclability of melamine, with a majority expressing their willingness towards recycling, the absence of a structured reverse logistics process and the inadequate management of remnants. This disconnect between perception and action in the company underlines the importance of education and the implementation of clear waste management policies. In addition, the lack of knowledge about the environmental risks associated with melamine, such as formaldehyde, was highlighted, highlighting the need for greater awareness about the materials used in the manufacture of products and their impact on the environment and health. Despite these limitations, the owner-manager showed a positive disposition towards recycling leftover melamine, suggesting potential for the implementation of sustainable practices in the company, especially if additional information on the environmental and economic benefits is provided to him.
