Abstract
Organic-mineral amendments increase productivity and improve crop quality. This research was carried out in the province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. The treatments were T1 humus + mashi, T2 humus + dolomite, T3 compost + mashi, T4 compost + dolomite, T5 chicken manure + mashi, T6 chicken manure + dolomite and the control treatments T7 chemical and T8 absolute. A Completely Random Block Design (DBCA) was used in factorial arrangement A x B + 2 with 8 treatments, three repetitions. The recorded variables were root length, leaf area, dry weight, % efficiency, relative growth rate (TRC), net assimilation rate (TAN), crop growth rate (TCC), leaf area index (IAF), leaf area ratio (RAF) at 0, 15, 30, 45, 60 days after sowing. The compost + dolomite, humus + dolomite amendments increased yield by 30 and 28 % respectively, in relation to the control treatments. The amendments based on compost + dolomite, followed by humus + dolomite also showed the highest TRC, TAN, TCC, IAF, RAF from 15-30-45-60 days after sowing.
