Abstract
This article explores the significance of didactics in the cognitive development of students in technical and professional education. Through a qualitative, descriptive-documentary approach, a thorough review of recent literature (2019-2024) was conducted to examine how innovative didactic strategies, such as active learning methodologies and the use of educational technologies, impact the development of cognitive skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and autonomous learning. The study highlights the essential role of the teacher as a cognitive mediator, responsible for facilitating the learning process and designing meaningful experiences that promote deep understanding and application of technical knowledge. Additionally, the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is shown to enhance cognitive development by providing dynamic, interactive, and personalized learning environments. The findings indicate that active learning methods, when appropriately applied, significantly foster cognitive growth and prepare students for real-world challenges.
