Abstract

The study carried out at SEGLAS S.A. focused on evaluating the effectiveness of the health and safety management system in the laminate area. The findings indicate that, although the majority of workers report feeling safe and preventive measures are considered mostly effective, significant deficiencies remain in the implementation and adherence to safety procedures. Questionnaire analysis revealed that, while 50% of workers feel "safe" or "very safe", the other 50% still perceive certain risks, suggesting the need to improve consistency in the application of safety measures. Inspections showed that 60% of the inspected areas met basic standards, but 40% had deficiencies that could increase the risk of accidents. The observed practices also reflected inconsistencies, with 30% of security practices not fully complying with established standards. Interviews with workers and managers highlighted the need for better training, especially in emergency drills and specific training, as well as more effective risk communication. Recommendations include strengthening adherence to safety procedures, updating infrastructure and improving ongoing training. This study provides a framework for continuous improvement at SEGLAS S.A. and offers valuable recommendations to optimize occupational health and safety practices, contributing to the well-being of workers and strengthening the field of occupational safety.
