Abstract
This study evaluated the implementation of the industrial safety manual in the company Pirotecnia Santo Domingo, Ecuador, with the objective of identifying its effectiveness in protecting workers. A mixed methodology was used, applying surveys to workers, an interview with the manager, and a rubric to review the manual. The results revealed that 80% of the employees have not received safety training, and the company does not conduct adequate risk assessments or emergency drills. The safety manual is not up to date and does not address all risks specific to the pyrotechnics industry. These findings are consistent with previous research that underscores the need for active safety management and a strong organizational culture. It is concluded that the company has serious deficiencies in the implementation of safety standards, putting the integrity of employees at risk. It is recommended to update the manual, implement continuous training programs, and strengthen the safety culture in the organization to mitigate occupational risks.
